North Hastings Community Fish Hatchery discovered in 2020 that their wells were not generating enough water for the water circulation process used at the hatchery. A fourth well had to be added, at considerable cost to the hatchery.
This is when owners of two companies stepped up to help.
JT Legge from JL Pump reduced his bill for trench work and installation by $1,800 and Joe Legge from Water Wells reduced his bill for the actual installation of the well by $6,340.
John Vanderpas, director with NHCFH says, “It would have been very challenging for us to bear the total cost of installing a fourth well. We are so thankful that these two companies were able to give us a helping hand.”
With the new well in place things are working better at the hatchery now that there is an additional source of water.
